Favorites and bookmarks allow you to create a shortcut to particular items no matter where it is saved in your library. Tap on the star icon in the upper right of a document or folder thumbnail in your library and it will be added to the Favorites tab.
In an open document, tap the bookmark icon in the nav bar and the page will be added to the favorites tab in that document. You can find all the bookmarks in a document by opening the thumbnail view and then navigating to the favorites tab which will show at the top of the pop-over.
A bookmarked page will also show up in the favorites tab in the library.
Removing a folder/document/page from Favorites
Removing the item from the list of favorites is simple. Just tap the star or the bookmark icon again and it will be removed.
Best practices for using Favorites 🤓
- If you often need to access a single page from a document, add a bookmark to it to quickly find it from the Favorites tab. This could be your index page from a journal or a time schedule for school/university
- Favorites can work as to-do lists as well. If you need to get something done that involves one or more documents, add them to Favorites. If you completed the task that involved that document, just remove it from Favorites with a single tap. This could be an article that you still need to proofread or a contract that you need to sign.
Using Bookmarks as in GoodNotes 4
Bookmarks from version 4 will be added to GoodNotes 5 soon. They will be migrated to the Outlines tab and will allow you to create custom outlines and structures for your documents, as you are used to from version 4. We will also add an easy option to convert your existing favorites (the ones migrated from version 4) to outline items.
