Configuring palm rejection is only necessary if you're writing with a non-Bluetooth capacitive stylus or your fingers.
GoodNotes provides an intelligent automatic palm rejection algorithm to assist with your note-taking. It allows you to rest your hand on the screen while you're writing and will block most unwanted marks caused by your palm.
If you're using Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon, the stylus itself already has built-in palm rejection, so no further configuration is needed.
Set palm rejection
- From the document view, open the More menu (...) in the top-right corner > Stylus & Palm Rejection.
- Choose your Writing Posture under "Palm Rejection" and the Sensitivity level.
You can also access "Stylus & Palm Rejection" from GoodNotes menu (gear icon) from the library view > Settings.
Setting the right sensitivity
If palm rejection is more sensitive, GoodNotes will detect and reject smaller unwanted input from your fingers or your hand.
Low (recommended) = Only large input will be rejected, such as your whole hand/palm.
Medium = Medium sized input will be rejected, such as a couple of fingers that rest on the screen.
High = Anything that isn't a stylus tip will be rejected. Therefore, if using a stylus with a very thin tip, you might need to choose Low or Medium instead.
