What is "Email to GoodNotes" in GoodNotes 5?
"Email to GoodNotes" enables you to easily import PDFs to your GoodNotes library via sending email to you @goodnotes.email address.
How to receive your @goodnotes.email
Tap on Settings in your main library view
Select "Email to GoodNotes" among all the Settings
Once activated, you will receive your goodnotes.email address as highlighted below.
Features of your goodnotes.email address
- The address is unique and tied to your iCloud account. You would be the only person who would receive the imports.
Limitations of Email to GoodNotes
We currently only support PDFs. Any other formats will be rejected. If an email contains both PDFs and other unsupported formats, the PDFs will be imported but the sender will receive an email listing the file of the unsupported format. Please note that we currently don’t follow links within the email even if it links directly to a PDF. Images may be considered to be part of the email signature. So if an email containing PDFs and images, there will be no error email sent back to the sender and only the PDFs are imported.
Checking new imports from your goodnotes.email
Currently, we are only checking for new imports when:
- our app goes into the foreground
- the "Email to GoodNotes" Setting is brought up
Normally, it takes a minute or two for our servers to prepare the attachment for downloading to your GoodNotes.
How to disable your @goodnotes.email
If you receive a lot of spam or you now don't want to use this feature anymore, you can easily disable your email address by disabling the feature. Please note that your email address will be disabled immediately and no one else will not be able to reuse the old address to receive any email.
