In update 5.0.21, we fixed a bug that caused document corruption after failing to import Office documents.
This bug resulted in the following symptoms in the corrupted documents:
- New pages were added to incorrect positions in the document
- Some pages couldn't be added to "Favorites"
- Pages couldn't be moved
- Pages couldn't be deleted
- Pages couldn't be copied with the alert "Page is not found"
- Blank documents after reinstalling the app
- Incorrect page numbers
To fix it please follow the instructions below:
Update the app to 5.0.22 or newer on App Store
Open this page on your device
Copy this link, paste it to the address bar in Safari app, and open it:
When asked if you would like to open this page in GoodNotes, tap Open. If you tapped Cancel accidentally, please clear the Safari history and website data from Settings app and try again.
GoodNotes will open and an alert will ask if you would like to repair the documents, tap OK.
Please wait until the repair is completed. If GoodNotes is restarted during the repairing process, please repeat the steps above to resume the repairing.
If GoodNotes was reinstalled after the problem occurred, and some data become missing, please check if there were device backups made before the incident from iTunes or iCloud, and restore the backup by following the instructions from this guide: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184
