Some of you might have got a sneak peek of our newest eraser option: the precision eraser, and we want it to be yet another effective tool for users to create beautiful and neat notes. Special thanks to those who have helped us test the precision eraser and shared valuable feedback & observations.
However, from the initial feedback and our testing results, we found some shortcomings with the precision eraser that might affect the core experience in GoodNotes. For example:
- Users can still interact with precisely erased content.
- Search results are less accurate for precisely erased handwriting.
- It might be possible to recover precisely erased content.
- The exported document where the precision eraser was used might be abnormally large in file size.
With these learnings, we’ve decided to remove the precision eraser option and will continue to introduce new improvements to the eraser tool.
