There are two main options for uploading your study materials into Community: either uploading from directly within Community, or uploading from your GoodNotes 5 Library.
Uploading and sharing your study materials is a core part of the Community experience. It allows for you to help other members of Community, as well as meet with other students studying the same subject as you. As such, we have put together a quick how-to guide on the options you can use to upload your materials. As there are a few, we would recommend trying all of them, to see which works best for you:
- Uploading within Community: To upload your files directly within Community, you would need to navigate to the Community Homepage > Press 'Contribute (+)'. Once in this page, you are offered with two choices of where you want to upload from: either from the Files App or from GoodNotes 5. There are distinct benefits and uses for both of these, explained below:
Through the Files App: We would recommend uploading files directly from the Files App when you are looking to upload study materials to Community that you don't already have within GoodNotes 5 already (such as PDFs that were worked on outside of the app). This feature is extremely useful when importing scanned in handwritten notes from paper for example.
Directly from GoodNotes 5 (within Community): Uploading your GoodNotes 5 notes into Community from within the Community Contribute page, you are limited to only being able to upload whole files or notebooks. This feature is great if you work on complete, self-contained notes for each subject, but might not work for you if you write your study materials in a single notebook. If you are looking to selectively upload your GoodNotes 5 study materials, then see below for the other option on this. - Uploading from your GoodNotes 5 Library: Whilst this may seem quite similar to the above point on "Uploading from GoodNotes 5 (within Community)", uploading directly from your notes has some key differences. By uploading to Community through your Library, you are offered the option to selectively upload your notes - you can decide if you want to upload the full notebook to Community, or individual pages.
To so this, you simply need to navigate to the notes you wish to upload in GoodNotes 5, then open them in the Documents tab > Select 'Share and Export' > Contribute to Community. From here, you can select the pages you want to upload to Community, and the app will seamlessly take these selected notes to the 'Contribute to Community' page.
Hopefully this guide will get you on track towards uploading your first few study materials to Community. If you have any issues with this, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team for some assistance!
