[GoodNotes 5] Add external links to your notes

GoodNotes allows linking text to a hyperlink so that you can quickly visit the URL by tapping on the linked text. 

Create a link

  1. While editing a text box, select the text you want to link to a URL.
  2. Tap Link.
  3. Change the URL in the "Link To" field.
  4. Tap outside the popover to save it. The linked text will be underlined with dashes.

Note: As you type text that looks like a URL (e.g goodnotes.com, www.goodnotes.com, http://goodnotes.com), GoodNotes will turn it into a tappable link.

Open a link

  1. Tap the linked text while using the Text tool. Otherwise, long-press the linked text.
  2. Tap Open Link. The link will be opened in your default browser.

Copy a link

  1. Tap the linked text while using the Text tool. Otherwise, long-press the linked text.
  2. Tap Copy Link.

You can then long-press on the page, or in a text field, and choose Paste.

Edit a link

  1. Tap the linked text while using the Text tool. Otherwise, long-press the linked text.
  2. Tap Link Settings, and edit the Link To field.

Remove a link

  1. Tap the linked text while using the Text tool. Otherwise, long-press the linked text.
  2. Tap Link Settings > Remove Link.

Tips & Tricks

  • You can insert emojis and created links out of them.
  • You can insert a link that has the color of the page background, which makes it invisible. If you add something on top, for example an image, you can still use the link by long-pressing it.
