Contribute your notes for rewards with GoodNotes Community through our new "Contribute for Rewards" notes purchasing program! If you're a university student with at least 10 academic documents, you may be eligible to receive rewards for your study notes. The process is simple:
- Join the Community beta - more information on how to join can be found here!
- Press the "Contribute for rewards" button, which can be found on the top banner within the Community homepage. Follow through this pop-up, and enroll to the program.
- Contribute 10 university academic documents to Community — with descriptions and tags accurately filled out.
- Once done, our system will check and process your notes within 1 week of submission, and then send the reward to your registered university email address.
This offer is limited to one per account - meaning that whilst you can upload more than 10 sets of notes to the platform, the offer will only apply to the first 10 you upload.
Please note that this campaign is only available for a limited time period, and is subject to end at any time. For full Terms and Conditions, see this page.
If you have a lot of notes that you want to bulk contribute (and receive rewards for), we have more information on how to to this here: How to get paid for your Community study materials.
FAQs on Note Rewards:
Q: Who can participate?
A: To be eligible to receive rewards for your 10 academic documents, you must:
- Have a GoodNotes Community account.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Have a valid university email address.
- Be located in an eligible country (listed below).
Q: Which countries are eligible for the "Contribute to rewards" program?
- United States of America
- United Kingdom
- Republic of Ireland
- New Zealand
- Hong Kong
Q: I can't see the "Contribute for rewards" button - why?
A: Either you are not located in one of our eligible countries, or are using a device that does not support this feature. You will see ‘Contribute for rewards’ if you are on iOS or iPadOS 14 or above devices. You will not be able to participate without access to a university email address.
If you are not located in an eligible country but have more than 30 university academic documents to contribute, you can apply to an alternative program, check it out here.
Q: What rewards do I receive for my 10 uploaded documents?
A: You will receive a $5 USD gift voucher of choice. This gift voucher will be converted to your local currency and the type of gift voucher you can receive will be based on gift vouchers availability in your jurisdictions. Some gift vouchers available for example are: Amazon & Starbucks.
Q: How does payment work?
A: After uploading your 10th material into the app, our system will go through some additional checks to ensure that the quality of your notes is up to a certain level - including a duplicate checker to ensure that multiple identical notes aren't being uploaded. For information on documents we can and can't accept, see: Community Content Guide.
Once this has completed (which can take 1-7 business days), you'll receive an email with a confirmation, as well as asking for more information on payout.
Q: Why were my notes rejected?
A: You will receive an email informing you if our system rejects your uploads. The most common reasons for rejected uploads are as follows:
- Your uploads were missing descriptions or weren’t tagged correctly
- Your uploads breached our Community Guideline or Terms & Conditions
- A copyright infringement
- The document is a duplicate of your own or another user
- The document is irrelevant
- The file is damaged or could not be processed
You can try again by uploading alternative documents. To avoid disappointment with future uploads, we recommend you familiarising yourself with our criteria.
More generally, in order to ensure your notes are accepted, you should ensure every document uploaded has all metadata filled in correctly; that you're not uploading any duplicate document; and that each document has enough content on.
Q: Is there a limit on how many notes I can upload within a certain period?
A: You can upload up to 100 materials per day to Community - however our in-app offer of rewards for notes will only apply for the first set of 10 you upload. If you are looking to contribute a large amount of notes in bulk, we do have ways that you can do this (see here for more information).
Q: Why do I have to label my notes with metadata (such as topic tags, descriptions etc.)?
A: This is to ensure that your documents are easily discoverable - as an important aspect of Community is to help others with studying. As the point of Community is to share and learn together, it's really important that other people studying similar (or the same) course as you can find useful study notes to help them out!
Q: Why am I seeing "The file looks quite empty" when attempting to upload a document?
A: The document you attempted to upload was either too empty, or not large enough. To prevent this from happening again, please ensure that your documents that you're uploading have sufficient content on.
