Goodnotes uses AI to predict what you're writing and can even finish the word for you! It's like having a little helper while you take notes. Plus, it even matches your handwriting style when generating the rest of the word!

If you don’t see this option, try relaunching the app fresh. If the option still isn’t shown, it’s not supported for your device, or not yet available to you. We appreciate your patience as we roll this feature out to everyone.

Use Word Complete
- Start handwriting a word in a notebook.
- Once you have handwritten enough letters in the word, a popup will appear giving you suggestions on the word you may be trying to write.
- Choose the word you were aiming for.
- Your word will be completed automatically, maintaining your handwriting style.
Note: Goodnotes will use AI to generate and match your handwriting style based on the handwriting on the page you are working on. Because of this, pages with more information will produce more accurate results and results may vary across different pages in a notebook or in notebooks shared with other users.
Which languages are supported?
Word Complete currently supports English (US/UK) only, but we continue to work on adding more languages. Here are a few ones already planned:
- Deutsch - German
- Español - Spanish
- Nederlands - Dutch
- 简体中文 - Chinese, Simplified
- 繁體中文（香港）- Chinese, Traditional (Hong Kong)
- 繁體中文（台灣）- Chinese, Traditional (Taiwan)

Why can I not use Word Complete?
If you are unable to use Word Complete, it may be that you are using a device that does not include Apple Neural Engine in its chip. Devices with the following CPUs include Apple Neural Engine and so should have the capacity to work with Word Complete:

Note: It is possible that earlier with the Apple Neural Engine (eg. iPad 9th-gen) could run into performance issues like unresponsiveness, lagging, or crashes. If this happens, it may be best for you to disable Word Complete.
As we take steps to improve this experimental feature, there may be usage limitations and things may not work as well as expected.
