Overview
Goodnotes uses on-device AI to recognize your handwriting and let you know when you have misspelt something. You can then correct your spelling while still keeping your own handwriting.
Use Spellcheck as you write
- Write down a word.
- If you have misspelt something, you will see a red line appear underneath the word.
- Finger-tap on the underlined word to bring up suggestions.
- Choose the correct spelling.
Your word will change to the correct spelling while maintaining your handwriting style.
💡 Please note that Goodnotes will use AI to generate and match your handwriting style based on the handwriting on the page you are working on. Because of this, pages with more information will produce more accurate results and results may vary across different pages in a notebook or in notebooks shared with other users.
Add custom words to Personal Dictionary
Has Spellcheck mistakenly labelled your word as incorrect? It may be because this word is not a standard word or is specialized terminology that isn’t yet recognized by the app. No problem, you can add the word to your Personal Dictionary so it doesn't get flagged next time!
- Finger-tap on the underlined word.
- Select More…
- Choose Add to Dictionary.
- Correct the recognized word in the alert, if needed.
- Hit Save.
💡 To view your Personal Dictionary, open Goodnotes menu > Writing Aids > Custom Words.
Which languages are supported?
Spellcheck supports multiple languages, and we continue to work hard to try and add more languages. Currently, Spellcheck supports the following languages:
- Dutch
- English (US/UK)
- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese (Brazil/Portugal)
- Spanish
