Improving Your Goodnotes Experience: Updates to Account Login

We're introducing improvements to how Goodnotes accounts are accessed across devices as part of our commitment to providing the best possible user experience.

What's changing?

We're optimizing how many devices can be logged into a single Goodnotes account at once. If an account is detected to have an unreasonably high number of simultaneous active logins, some older sessions may be automatically logged out. These updates help us maintain a fast, secure, and reliable service while also protecting your content and our educational partners' materials.

How does this affect you?

  • If your account reaches the threshold for simultaneous sessions, the oldest login session on another device will be automatically logged out.
  • You can easily log back into Goodnotes on that device, but this will in turn cause the oldest active session on another device to be logged out.
  • Most users will not be affected by this change unless their account usage significantly exceeds fair-use exceptions.

How to avoid disruptions

  • If you experience unexpected logouts, check if you’ve reached the device limit by checking if you have multiple active devices using your account.
  • Log out from any devices you no longer use to free up space for active devices.
  • Regularly review your device list to maintain smooth access.
  • Do not purchase “premium” Goodnotes accounts from unknown sources. If another user of such a shared account deletes it, you will risk permanently losing all of your own Goodnotes data. Goodnotes subscriptions should only be purchased directly through our App Distribution Platforms, namely Apple’s App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, and Samsung Galaxy Store.

Fair-use and legal policies

  • Sharing or reselling Goodnotes accounts or templates sold on the Marketplace, violates our Terms of Service (3.3.3) and may result in account termination without refund.
  • Users are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their Goodnotes account credentials.
  • We reserve the right to take legal action against individuals or organizations facilitating unauthorized account sharing.
