Real-time collaboration lets multiple people work in the same shared document and see changes as they happen. With Live Cursor, participants can see where collaborators are writing or editing.
A real-time session cannot start until at least one participant with an active Goodnotes Pro subscription opens the shared document.
Start a real-time collaboration session
- Ask the “Goodnotes Pro” subscriber to open the shared document first.
- Have the other participants open the document afterward.
- If someone already had it open, ask them to close and reopen it.
Real-time collaboration turns on automatically when the Goodnotes Pro subscriber opens the document.
Participant limits
- Up to 50 participants can collaborate in real time at once.
- There is no overall limit on document participants.
- Participants beyond the first 50 can still work and receive regular sync updates, but they do not see Live Cursor or instant updates.
If you cannot see other collaborators’ cursors
- Confirm that a Goodnotes Pro subscriber has the document open.
- Close the document.
- Reopen it after the Goodnotes Pro subscriber has joined.
If 50 people are already participating in real time, additional collaborators receive regular sync updates instead of Live Cursor and instant updates.
