You can import text-based flashcards from apps that export them as .TXT, .CSV, or .TSV files, including Quizlet and Anki.
Importing flashcards from other apps is available on iOS only. The first column must contain the questions and the second column must contain the answers. Do not include headers, titles, or additional columns. Images and handwriting cannot be imported in these formats.
Import flashcards from Quizlet
- Open the flashcard set in Quizlet.
- Select More (…) > Export.
- Set Between term and definition to Tab and Between rows to New line.
- Select Copy Text.
- Open a blank spreadsheet. In Google Sheets, right-click the top-left cell and select Paste special > Paste values only.
- Select File > Download, then download the spreadsheet as a .CSV or .TSV file.
- Import the downloaded file into Goodnotes to create a Study Set.
Import flashcards from Anki
- On the Anki start screen, find the deck you want to export.
- Select the Settings button beside the deck, then select Export.
- Set the export format to Notes in Plain Text and export the .TXT file.
- Import the file into Goodnotes using one of these methods:
- Select New… in the Notebook View, then find and select the file.
- Drag the file into Goodnotes from another app, such as Files or a cloud-storage app.
- Select Open with Goodnotes from the Share menu of another app.
Prepare a compatible file
For a .CSV or .TSV file, put each question in the first column and its answer in the second column. Do not add headers, titles, or other columns. Only text-based flashcards can be imported.
