Import and export Study Sets

Important: CSV, TSV, and TXT imports support text only. Images, handwriting, and other non-text content are not imported into the Study Set.

Goodnotes can import Study Sets from supported files and export them as Goodnotes files for sharing or backup.

Supported import formats

  • .goodnotes
  • .csv
  • .tsv
  • .txt

CSV and TSV files can help you move text-based flashcards from another app. For app-specific guidance, see Migrate flashcards from another app into Goodnotes.

Import a Study Set

You can use any standard Goodnotes import method:

  1. In the Library, select New > Import and choose the file; or drag the file from Files or a cloud-storage app into Goodnotes.
  2. You can also use the other app’s Share menu and select Open in Goodnotes.
  3. Confirm the import and open the new Study Set from the Library.

For full import guidance, see Import files into Goodnotes. You can also use the sample flashcards to practise.

Export a Study Set

  1. Open the Study Set.
  2. Select “Share and Export”, then select Export.
  3. Choose a destination and save the file.

Goodnotes exports the Study Set in .goodnotes format. This creates a copy that you can import on another device or share with another Goodnotes customer.
