Report copyright, trademark, or harmful content to Goodnotes

Use the Goodnotes takedown process to report content that you believe infringes copyright, trademark, or other protected rights, or is illegal or harmful.

Important: Submit complete and accurate information. Goodnotes reviews each complaint and may request evidence before removing content or disabling access.

Submit a takedown request

  1. Open the “Goodnotes takedown request form”: Goodnotes takedown request form.
  2. Identify the content and explain why it infringes your rights or is illegal or harmful.
  3. For copyright, provide evidence of the original work and explain the alleged infringement.
  4. For trademark, provide details of the protected trademark, where it is protected, and the use being reported.
  5. Submit the complaint for review.

What happens after a report

  • Goodnotes reviews the content and supplied information.
  • Goodnotes may remove content, disable access, or contact the user who shared it.
  • The affected user is notified if content is removed or disabled.

Content you can report

  • Intellectual property infringement: Unauthorized use of copyright, trademark, or another protected asset.
  • Illegal or harmful content: Content that may be unlawful, harmful, or violate Goodnotes terms.

If your content is reported

You may submit a counternotice if you believe a copyright claim is mistaken or content was misidentified. Content may remain unavailable during review.

If you disagree with a decision

If Goodnotes takes action against your content, you have 3 months to dispute the decision. Goodnotes will make reasonable efforts to respond in a timely manner.

Why this process exists

The process supports intellectual-property and online-safety requirements, including the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act and applicable obligations for user-to-user services.
