Goodnotes for Android, Windows and Web library sync with iOS device.

Introducing Goodnotes Cloud on iOS Pilot Program! This exciting new in-app cloud syncing technology keeps your documents effortlessly synchronized across all your devices. We are rolling out this feature gradually to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Let's dive into how it works and what makes it special.

How is Goodnotes Cloud Different from iCloud?

Goodnotes Cloud lets you sync your documents seamlessly across various devices, including Windows devices, Android tablets, and web browsers. And now, with the Goodnotes Cloud expanding to iOS platform, you can seamlessly sync your notebooks from Android, Windows, and Web to your Apple devices too!

In contrast, iCloud Sync only supports syncing notes across Apple devices. Plus, iCloud Sync uses your iCloud storage, which is shared with other apps on your Apple devices. By using Goodnotes Cloud, you can free up more of this space.

How do I enroll to use Goodnotes Cloud on iOS?

Goodnotes Cloud on iOS is currently in its pilot stage and is gradually rolling out.

  • If you have been using Goodnotes on Android, Windows, and Web, and never used iCloud sync on your account, you might notice your documents sync automatically when you sign up the first time in to Goodnotes 6 app on iOS
  • If you're already using Goodnotes on iOS, you might get an invite to upgrade from iCloud to Goodnotes Cloud. Once you make the switch, all your devices linked to the same iCloud account will seamlessly transition to Goodnotes Cloud. Don't worry-you'll still be able to access your documents during the switch

To check if Goodnotes Cloud is available for you, just head to the Goodnotes Menu > Cloud & Backup > Switch to Goodnotes Cloud. You should see Goodnotes Cloud listed as your Cloud Sync option, if you do not see this option yet, stay tuned-it's on its way!

What can I sync with Goodnotes Cloud?

You can sync all your folders and notebooks and access them on any supported platform. Some contents, like custom templates, custom elements, and stickers from the marketplace, might behave differently, but don’t worry—they’re not lost. We’re working on making everything accessible across all platforms soon.

Why aren't some of my iOS contents syncing to Android, Windows, or the web?

Features like Tape, Ruler, Audio Notes, Full Page Typed Notes, Timer, Dotted & Dashed lines, Study sets, and AI textbooks are also not yet present on Goodnotes for Android, Windows, and Web, but we’re working on it!

Can I switch back to iCloud Sync if my account is using Goodnotes Cloud?

Once your account is set up for Goodnotes Cloud, you can't switch it back to iCloud Sync.

I already paid, why can I only edit three notebooks on my iOS device?

If you’re limited to editing three notebooks, it’s likely because you’re subscribed to the Android & Windows Yearly plan, which doesn’t support the full version on iOS. To edit more than three notebooks, you need to subscribe to the All Platform Yearly plan. You can request a refund for your current subscription and purchase a All Platform Yearly plan. Here’s how to request refund for your Android & Windows Yearly plan.

Am I eligible for Goodnotes Cloud Sync if I purchase a plan from the Apple App Store?

Currently, there are two plans available through the Apple App Store:

  • Apple One-Time Payment Plan: This plan is tailored for those primarily using Apple devices and does not include full version for Android, Windows, or web users. If you’ve purchased this plan, Goodnotes Cloud Sync is not available. However, you can still share documents with non-Apple platforms using the Share Link feature.
  • All Platform Yearly Plan (Goodnotes 6 Yearly): To access Goodnotes Cloud Sync with this plan, you should first create an account on Goodnotes for Android, Windows, or Web. Then, purchase the yearly subscription plan. Enrolled pilot users will see their documents synced when they log in to the iOS app for the first time. If you don’t see your library synced, this feature might not be available to you yet.

What does the "Goodnotes Cloud Sync Disabled" alert mean?

This alert means that you’re already using Goodnotes Cloud but have local iCloud documents, so your Goodnotes Cloud library can’t sync to this device. For instance, if one device is syncing with iCloud and another with Goodnotes Cloud, the device with iCloud data will continue to sync with iCloud, and you’ll see this alert.

What happens if I delete my Goodnotes account?

Deleting your Goodnotes account will also delete any associated Goodnotes Cloud data and your local files. Once deletion is confirmed, this action is irreversible, so please exercise caution before you proceed.
