Math Assist can intelligently recognise math equations from your handwriting in any Goodnotes 6 notebook. However, it may occasionally miss recognise some equations due to potential errors. If this happens, please review the following possible issues.
Check that Math Assist is turned on
To use Math Assist, make sure to turn Math Assist on by tapping on the Pen icon > Math Assist and toggle Suggestions on. Math Assist is turned off by default, so it is important to switch it on before solving equations!
Note: Math Assist is only available in notebooks where the language is set to English.
Check your handwriting
If you are using a supported device and topic, Math Assistance may occasionally not recognise your handwriting as maths equations. This should be a rare occurrence, and can be avoided by writing in straight lines with clearly distinguished numbers. If required, you can edit the LaTex to correct a recognised location.
If parts of your handwriting are not being detected, try moving them so that they are highlighted together. For example, moving the limit below to include it in the equation:

Tapping on any math line will show the recognition result of your handwritten math. Check that this math is recognized correctly.
Check that Math Assist is available on your device

Currently, Math Assist supports a specific set of topics. Please take a look and see if your math topic is supported.

Check that Math Assist has not been disabled by your institution's admin.
