A Whiteboard is a document with an infinite canvas for planning, brainstorming, mind-mapping, and diagramming. It can contain multiple boards.
Warning: converting an existing notebook to a Whiteboard is currently available on iOS only. This article does not confirm whether conversion can be reversed or describe Whiteboard export behavior.
The creation path is “New… > Whiteboard”.
Create a Whiteboard
- In Library View, select New… > Whiteboard.
- Choose a name, language, background pattern, and color.
- Select Create.
Manage boards
- Open the Sidebar.
- Select Add Board to add one.
- Select a thumbnail to open a board.
- Drag a board to reorder it.
- Open the arrow beside a board to edit or delete it.
For several boards, open the Sidebar menu, select Select Boards, choose the boards, then select an action.
Navigate with the minimap
- Drag inside the minimap to move across the canvas.
- Double-select it to fit content to the screen.
- Use the zoom control to adjust the view.
- Use the Minimap button to show or hide it.
Collaboration limits
Whiteboards support real-time collaboration, including visible edits and laser pointer. This article does not specify participant limits, account requirements, offline behavior, or platform availability.
Convert a notebook to a Whiteboard
- On iOS, open the arrow beside the notebook title.
- Select Convert to Whiteboard.
If an option is missing
- For a new Whiteboard, return to Library View and open New.
- For conversion, confirm that you are using iOS.
- If the option remains missing, contact Goodnotes Support with platform, app version, and a screenshot.
