Fix a Disabled “Use iCloud to Sync Documents” Setting

This guide applies to iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Before you can turn on Use iCloud to Sync Documents in Goodnotes, iCloud Drive and Goodnotes must be enabled in the device settings.

This article only applies when the “Use iCloud to Sync Documents” setting cannot be enabled.

The device-sync option is named Sync this iPhone, Sync this iPad, or Sync this Mac, depending on the device.

Enable iCloud Drive and Goodnotes

  1. Open the device settings.
  2. Select Apple Account > iCloud > iCloud Drive.
  3. Turn on Sync this iPhone, Sync this iPad, or Sync this Mac.

  1. Under Apps Syncing to iCloud Drive, turn on Goodnotes.

Enable iCloud Sync in Goodnotes

  1. Return to Goodnotes.
  2. Open the Goodnotes menu and select Cloud & Backup.
  3. Turn on Use iCloud to Sync Documents.

If the issue continues

Confirm that every device uses the same Apple Account and that iCloud Drive has available storage. If you are still unable to enable the setting, contact Goodnotes Support.
