You only need to configure palm rejection if you write with your fingers or a non-Bluetooth capacitive stylus. Apple Pencil and Logitech Crayon have built-in palm rejection, so no additional configuration is needed.
Goodnotes uses automatic palm rejection to help block unwanted marks while you rest your hand on the screen.
Set palm rejection
- In Document View, open the More menu (…) in the top-right corner.
- Select Stylus & Palm Rejection.
- Under Palm Rejection, choose your writing posture and sensitivity level.
You can also open Stylus & Palm Rejection from the Goodnotes menu in Library View by selecting Settings.
Choose a sensitivity level
A higher sensitivity makes Goodnotes reject smaller touches from your fingers or hand.
- Low (recommended): Rejects larger touches, such as your whole hand or palm.
- Medium: Rejects medium-sized touches, such as a few fingers resting on the screen.
- High: Rejects anything that is not detected as a stylus tip. If your stylus has a very thin tip, use Low or Medium instead.
