Goodnotes Presentation Mode allows you to convert your iPad or iPhone into a digital whiteboard. When you connect your device to an external screen or projector via AirPlay, Presentation Mode lets you hide the user interface and other distracting elements from your audience.
Mirror your iPad or iPhone screen to an external screen
To get started, mirror your iPad or iPhone screen to the external screen or use an HDMI cable.
Select the desired preference in the Share options
By default, the user interface will be hidden from your audience. You can configure these preferences in the Share and Export options in an open document. Presentation Mode has three different preferences that determine what your audience will see on the external screen.

Use the Laser Pointer to focus attention
The Laser Pointer is always available in the toolbar. If you don't see it, swipe left on the toolbar
The Laser Pointer has two different styles that you can set in the contextual area: Dot & Trail.
Dot
A red dot will follow along your touch on the screen.
Trail
Drawing on the screen will add a temporary laser trail, which will disappear after one second, allowing you to highlight larger areas, or add temporary annotations to the page to guide your audience's attention.

Teaching
Use Goodnotes as a whiteboard replacement and mirror your iPad to an external screen. You can walk around the room freely while still adding annotations to the digital whiteboard. Apps you open in slide-over or split-view are hidden from your audience, which allows you to conveniently drag in images or look up information. Use your iPad's camera to take a photo of a student's work to project it on the external screen in order to discuss it with everyone.
Record helpful videos
You can record your iPad's screen and your voice with the help of iOS' screen recording feature or third-party apps like Reflector. The laser pointer serves as a pointer device so that others can see what you're referring to without having to see your fingers. In case you're a tutor, teacher, or someone who creates material for online courses, we highly recommend you give it a try.
Create quick presentations and transitions
Your audience won't see page-sliding animations on the external screen when you select the preference Mirror Full Page. This allows you to create Flipbook-Style presentations where you create a series of pages that vary gradually from one page to the next. Turning the page will create a feeling of animation for your audience. To make sure your drawings stay in place on the next page, use the options to duplicate or copy and paste pages.
