Recommended Specifications:

To ensure the best experience with our application, please review the recommended specifications and supported input methods for your device:

Android Devices:

  • An Android tablet with at least 4 GB of RAM
  • 6-inch screen or larger 
  • An Internet connection

You can use the following types of input to edit notebooks:

  • Mouse.
  • Graphic tablet, typically used by visual designers
  • A tablet-specific pen, like Samsung's S Pen
  • Your fingers

Windows Devices:

  • A Windows device or machine with at least 4 GB of RAM
  • An Internet connection

You can use the following types of input to edit notebooks:

  • Mouse.
  • Graphic tablet, typically used by visual designers
  • Microsoft Surface pen
  • Your fingers

Chromebook Devices

  • A touch-based, stylus-enabled Chromebook device

Goodnotes reserves the right to support selected models with lower specifications. For an optimal experience, we recommend a minimum configuration of 4GB of RAM and the latest version of Android.

 

How to update your App

Our app receives regular updates to make your experience even better! Here’s how to keep everything up to date:

Progressive Web App Update: These updates happen automatically whenever we make changes on our server. If you’d like to initiate updates manually, here’s what you can do:

  1. Ensure you have a stable internet connection—this helps the app download the latest version smoothly.

  2. Close and reopen the app to launch the newest version.

    • For Android: Tap the Recent Apps button [|||], swipe the Goodnotes app off the screen, and then reopen it.
    • For Windows: Click the [x] to close, then open the app again.

You can check which version you have by going to the Gear icon > Version.

App Store Update: To access new features and improvements, you’ll need to download the latest version from the App Store. For a hassle-free experience, we suggest turning on Auto Update Apps in you app store.

FAQs

I am having trouble downloading from Microsoft Store, what should I do?

If you are having issues with the installation, please try the following:

  1. Make sure your Windows app is up-to-date.
      • Open the Microsoft Store.
      • Open "..." in the top-right corner > Downloads and updates > Get updates.
      • Wait until the process is done and reboot your device. 
  2. Fully restart your device.
  3. On your Windows machine, simply open https://web.goodnotes.com on your Microsoft Edge (don't use Chrome or other browser). Then, click on the three-dot menu at the top-right corner. Select Apps, click Install this site as an app option.
  4. If you still have trouble downloading from Microsoft Store. Please check out this Microsoft Support article.
