How can I activate the S Pen button?
To get started with the S Pen button, make sure you have:
- The latest version of the Goodnotes app downloaded from the Galaxy Store.
- The latest version of Samsung Internet (version 23 or above).
How to use Eraser tool with S Pen button?
- Tap-and-Hold the S Pen button.
- The current editing tool will switch to the Eraser tool.
- After using the Eraser tool, release the S Pen button to switch back to the previous tool.
How do I check if I am on the latest version of Goodnotes and Samsung Internet?
- To download the latest version of Goodnotes, go to Galaxy Store → Goodnotes for Android. Or click here to update to the latest version of the app if you haven’t already.
- To download the latest version of Samsung Internet, go to Galaxy Store → Samsung Internet. Or click here to update to the latest version of the app if you haven’t already.
- Remember to set Samsung Internet as your default browser app, by going to Device Settings > Apps > Choose default apps.
- To check version number of Samsung Internet, go to Device Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Version.
- We would recommend that you turn on auto app update feature by visiting, Setting → Galaxy Store Setting → Auto update apps.

I downloaded the app from the Play Store. How can I get the S Pen Button feature?

If the app is installed from Google play, enable Air Action.
For more detailed instructions, you can check out this helpful article. Once you’re set up, a simple click on the S Pen button will switch to the Eraser tool, and clicking again will bring you back to your previous tool. -
Reinstall GoodNotes from the Galaxy Store.
Reinstalling the app won’t affect your account, documents, or subscription. Just make sure to remember your “Email & Connected Via” for a smooth login. You can find it under the Gear icon > Manage Account.
- Uninstall the GoodNotes app from your device.
- Visit the Galaxy Store and download Goodnotes for Android.
- Sign in with your Goodnotes account.
- Once you’re all set, just tap and hold the S Pen button. The editing tool will switch to Eraser, and releasing it will switch back to your previous tool!
- Pro Tip: To check if the app was installed from the Galaxy Store, go to Device Settings > Apps > GoodNotes and look for “App downloaded from Galaxy Store.”
Is this S Pen feature available on all devices?
As long as your device has S Pen support and you are on Samsung Internet version 23 or above with the latest version of Goodnotes, you will have access to the feature.

The Surface Slim Pen also provides handy shortcuts! With a secondary button, you can swiftly click and utilize the lasso tool. Plus, the end tip of the pen functions as an eraser!
