Your purchase will evolve into Goodnotes Special Edition. Don't worry - you'll keep everything you already have access to, plus you'll get some of the new features like Whiteboard and Text Documents. It's our way of saying thanks for being with us!
I'm using the Android & Windows Yearly plan. What happens to my subscription?

Is there a free trial available?
Both Goodnotes Essential and Goodnotes Pro come with 7-day free trials. Special Edition, Goodnotes Essential users, can all try AI Pass with a 7-day free trial.
How do I upgrade my subscription plan?
Simply explore the Goodnotes menu for your upgrade options! Once you've made the switch, you'll immediately unlock all the exciting new features of your chosen plan.
If you subscribed through the App Store, you will be charged immediately for the new plan. Apple will handle the upgrade payment and process a refund for your old subscription plan. Your renewal date will be set one year from the date your new yearly plan begins.
If you subscribed on non-Apple platforms, you upgrade cost is prorated. Your renewal date stays the same after upgrading. You'll simply enjoy your enhanced features for the remainder of your current billing cycle.
Note: Be sure you are using the app from the same store where you first subscribed (App Store, Galaxy Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, or web) to be able to upgrade. If your subscription was made through Paddle via Galaxy Store, Microsoft Store, or the web, the option to upgrade may only appear after your free trial ends.
I am on Goodnotes Essential / Goodnotes Pro plan, how do I switch to Special Edition?
The Special Edition is a one-time purchase available only on the Apple App Store. It is a one-time purchase option rather than a subscription. If you're currently on Goodnotes Essential or Goodnotes Pro. To avoid double payment, the Special Edition option will not be shown while you have an active subscription.
- You can manage your subscription through Apple Subscriptions (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Goodnotes)
- Special Edition will be available on the Goodnotes paywall (availability varies by region) when your account do not have an active subscription.
Please note that switching to Special Edition will provide fewer features than your current plan. We recommend reviewing the plan details to ensure Special Edition meets your needs before making the switch.

How does the AI Pass work alongside my subscription?
The AI Pass works like a power-up for your Goodnotes experience! You'll need either Goodnotes Essential or Goodnotes Pro as your base subscription to purchase it. If you decide to cancel your base subscription with more than 30 days remaining, you can still enjoy your AI Pass benefits. With less than 30 days left, we'll send you a friendly reminder to consider canceling your AI Pass too.
I'm a Goodnotes Essential plan user. Do I need to upgrade to Goodnotes Pro before buying AI Pass?
Not at all! As an Goodnotes Essential user, you can jump straight to purchasing the AI Pass without upgrading to Goodnotes Pro first. Even better - at launch, all Essential users get to try AI Pass with a 7-day free trial. It's the perfect opportunity to explore all those powerful AI features!
How does AI Pass 7-Day Free Trial works?
Available to Goodnotes Essential users. You don't need to upgrade to Goodnotes Pro to try it. Simply check your paywall for the trial offer.
What you get during the trial: You'll have full AI Pass privileges for 7 days, including access to premium AI features and higher credit limits.
How it's set up: The AI Pass works as an add-on to your base plan (Goodnotes Essential or Goodnotes Pro). Your base plan remains unchanged while you try AI Pass.
To avoid charges, make to manage your AI Pass trial from your Apple Subscriptions before the 7-day period ends.
Can I refund my AI Pass? What happens afterward?
If you purchased the AI Pass via the Apple App Store and would like to request a refund, please contact Apple Support directly. Apple will make the final decision on refunds, and if approved, your AI Credit allowance will revert to the standard amount included with your base subscription plan. For AI Pass purchases made through other platforms, please use the refund form.
Why don't I see the option to purchase Special Edition, Goodnotes Pro or AI Pass?
