Erase content with the Eraser tool

Use the Eraser tool to remove handwriting and other supported stroke types. Choose an eraser style for precise or broad changes, or use Erase Filter to control which content types the Eraser removes.

 Erase Filter supports Pen, Pencil, Highlighter, and Tape content.

Choose an eraser style

Select the Eraser tool, then select the first icon in the active tool menu to choose a style.

Eraser styles in the active tool menu

  • Precision Eraser: Erases only the content within the erasing circle.

  • Standard Eraser: Erases a small segment of a continuous stroke.

  • Stroke Eraser: Erases an entire continuous stroke.

Erase specific content types

Use Erase Filter to remove selected stroke types while leaving other content untouched.

Erase Filter settings for supported content types

  1. Select the Eraser tool to open its options menu.
  2. Select Erase Filter (the settings icon).
  3. Turn each content type on or off depending on what you want to erase:
    • Pen
    • Pencil
    • Highlighter
    • Tape

Use other Eraser settings

  • Clear Page: Clears the page content.
  • Auto-Deselect: Switches back to your last-used tool when you lift your stylus.
