Adding colors to Writing tools (pen, pencil, highlighter, tape, draw shape)

By default, writing tools display three quick-selection colors in the toolbar. Tap any active color to choose a new palette option, or select the plus icon to add more color presets (up to 12 slots total).

Edit and add color presets 

Edit a preset

  1. Open options: Select a preset color on the toolbar, then tap it a second time.

  2. Pick a color:

    - Existing colors: Choose from the available presets, or tap the empty circle at the bottom to save a new preset.

    - Custom color: Select Custom to pick from the palette, enter a HEX code, or use the color wheel.

  3. Save: Tap anywhere outside the pop-up to apply your choice. The new preset will now appear on your toolbar.

     

Add a new preset

Adding a new preset is similar to editing and selecting a color.

  1. Select the slot: On the toolbar, tap the empty circle (+) to the right of your color presets.

  2. Pick a color: Select a shade from the existing colors, or tap Custom to enter a HEX code, pick from the palette, or use the color wheel.

  3. Save: Tap anywhere outside the pop-up to add your new color preset to the toolbar.

Removing colors from the presets

  1. Open the preset pop-up menu by tapping again on your chosen color. 
  2. Tap Edit in the upper left corner.
  3. Tap on the color you want to remove.
  4. Tap Remove Selected Color Slot

Rearranging colors

  1. Open options: Tap your active color on the toolbar a second time to bring up the preset menu.

  2. Reorder: Tap and hold any color preset, then manually drag it to your desired position.

Restoring the presets to defaults

  1. Open the preset pop-up menu by tapping again on your chosen color. 
  2. Tap Settings in the top-left corner > Restore Color Sets to original.
