Edit and reflow handwriting with the Lasso tool

Use Edit Handwriting from the Lasso object menu to reflow handwritten notes, edit individual words, straighten lines, and change alignment or color.

Important: The Lasso tool must be configured to include handwriting. Select the Lasso tool again and confirm that Handwriting is enabled under “Included in Selection”.

Open Edit Handwriting

  1. Select the Lasso tool.
  2. Draw around the handwriting you want to edit.
  3. Select the lassoed handwriting to open the object menu.
  4. Select More (…) if needed, then select “Edit Handwriting”.

Reflow handwriting

In Edit Handwriting, handles appear on the sides of the selection. Drag a side handle to change the width of the selection. Goodnotes automatically reflows the handwriting and adjusts how many words appear on each line.

Edit individual words

  1. Double-tap a handwritten word with your stylus.
  2. Drag the selection handles to include the words you want to change. Selected words are outlined in blue.
  3. Use the available Edit Handwriting controls to adjust the selected content.

Straighten lines and change formatting

  • Select the line-straightening icon to straighten multiple lines at once.
  • Use the alignment controls to change how the handwriting is aligned.
  • Use the color control to change the handwriting color.
