Scribble to Erase removes Pen Tool strokes when you scribble over them. Strokes outside the scribbled area can remain.
Scribble to Erase cannot remove content unless it is a Pen Tool stroke. The gesture setting is “Scribble to Erase”.
Erase Pen Tool strokes
- Write with the Pen Tool.
- Using the Pen Tool, scribble over the strokes you want to erase.
- Cover the entire area you want to remove.
For more reliable recognition, use a dense scribble that covers every stroke you want to remove.
If part of the writing remains
Separate marks outside the scribbled area may remain, including the dot above a lowercase “i.” Scribble over the remaining marks or cover them in the initial scribble.
Turn off Scribble to Erase
- Select the Pen Tool twice to open Pen Settings.
- Select Pen Gestures.
- Turn off Scribble to Erase.
