If a long-press shows “Highlight, Strikeout, Define, Copy” instead of Paste, the custom PDF template may contain selectable content that has not been flattened.
Warning: flattening a PDF can remove selectable or interactive content. Keep the original file.
Flatten the template on Mac
- Open the PDF in Preview.
- Press Command-P.
- Choose Save as PDF from the PDF menu.
- Import the saved PDF into Goodnotes and test the long-press menu again.
Flatten the template in Chrome
- Open the PDF in Chrome.
- Choose Print.
- Select Save as PDF as the destination.
- Save and import the new PDF into Goodnotes.
Protect your information
Use a local method where possible. Do not upload templates containing personal or confidential information to an online PDF service.
If Paste is still missing
If you still cannot paste, contact Goodnotes Support and explain where the content was copied from and where you tried to paste it. Share a redacted sample template if needed to reproduce the issue.
