Zoom, pan, and scroll through pages in Goodnotes

Use touch gestures, a mouse, trackpad, or keyboard to zoom, pan, and move through pages in Goodnotes. Some controls differ between Apple devices and Goodnotes for Android, Windows, and Web.

The Whiteboard minimap is only available on iOS and iPadOS.

Zoom in or out

  • Touchscreen: Spread two fingers to zoom in or pinch them together to zoom out. You can also double-tap the page.
  • Trackpad: Use the trackpad’s zoom gesture.
  • Android, Windows, and Web: Use the plus and minus controls in the lower-right corner, press Ctrl while scrolling the mouse wheel, or press Ctrl + Plus and Ctrl + Minus.
  • Apple devices with a keyboard or mouse: Press Command while scrolling the mouse wheel, or press Command + Plus and Command + Minus.

In a Whiteboard on iOS or iPadOS, you can also use the minimap to zoom in and out.

Pan around a zoomed-in page

  • Touchscreen: Drag the page in any direction with one finger.
  • Trackpad: Drag with two fingers.
  • Keyboard: Use the arrow keys.
  • Whiteboard on iOS or iPadOS: Drag within the minimap.

Scroll through notebook pages

Swipe in the direction configured for the document. With horizontal scrolling, you can also drag the scrollbar on the right edge to move quickly through pages.

Change the scrolling direction

  1. Open the document.
  2. Select the More (…) button in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Scrolling Direction.
  4. Choose Vertical or Horizontal.
