You can add images to your notes in Goodnotes in a few different ways. Follow the steps in this article to see how to use the Image Tool to import images from your device and copy and paste images from elsewhere or on the web.

Use the Image Tool

  1. Select the Image Tool from the Handwriting ToolbarTool
  2. Tap anywhere on the page
  3. Select an image you want to add from "Photos" or "Insert from..." and choose from your FilesImport

From the contextual menu

The Image Tool's contextual menu will show your most recent images from your Photos.

  1. Select the Image Tool from the Toolbar, this will bring up the contextual menu on the right-hand side.
  2. Tap on one of the images you want to add to the page OR drag and drop the image thumbnail to the page from the contextual menu.

1. Copy that image (which can be from anywhere, like a web page) to the clipboard: Long-press it and tap Copy.
2. Long-press on a GoodNotes page and choose Paste.

On

Note: Not all images from the web can be copied, as some contain copyrighted material and will only add a URL to the image to your clipboard. Unfortunately, this is not something that Goodnotes can change, but is dependent on the website that is hosting that image.

Cropping an image

Once you have imported an image, you can crop it with these steps:

1. Choose the Image tool and tap on the image to bring up more options. Alternatively, long-press on the image and select Crop.
2. If choosing Rectangle at the bottom, drag one or more of the handles to adjust the cropping. If choosing Freehand, you can freely draw contours to crop the image.
3. Tap Done.
