You can add images to your notes with the Images tool, paste them from another source, or add an image as a full page.
Add an image with Images
- Select Images from the Toolbar.
- Select an image from Photos, or select Insert from... and choose an image from your files.
- Move the inserted image to the position you want on the page.
Paste an image onto a page
- Long-press the image you want to add, then select Copy.
- Long-press a Goodnotes page, then select Paste.
On iOS, you can also copy an image from a webpage. Some websites prevent images from being copied and may place only the image URL on your clipboard.
Crop an image
- Select Images, then tap the image to show its options. Alternatively, long-press the image and select Crop.
- Choose a crop style:
- Rectangle: Drag the handles to adjust the crop.
- Freehand: Draw the outline you want to keep.
- Select Done.
Add an image to Elements
- Add the image to your document.
- Select the image:
- On iOS: Tap the image twice, then select Add Element.
- On Android, Windows, and Web: Select the image with Lasso, tap the selected image, then select Add Element.
- Select an existing collection, or select New Collection..., enter a descriptive name, and select Create.

Add an image as a whole page
Add a single image as a whole page when you want to annotate it:
- In Document View, select the Add Page icon on the right side of the Nav Bar.
- If needed, select Before, After, or Last Page to choose where to place the image.
- Select Image, then choose an image from Photos.
