Presentation Mode turns an iPad or iPhone into a digital whiteboard for an external screen or projector. Connect through AirPlay Screen Mirroring or a compatible cable, then choose what your audience sees.
Important: Presentation Mode is available on iPad and iPhone. It is not currently supported in Goodnotes for macOS, Android, Windows, or Web.
Connect with AirPlay
- Connect the device and AirPlay receiver to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Control Center from the upper-right corner.
- Select Screen Mirroring.
- Select the Apple TV, compatible smart TV, or Mac.
- If prompted, enter the passcode shown on the external screen.

Choose what your audience sees
- Open the document while mirroring is active.
- Open Share and Export.
- Select a presentation option.
- Mirror Entire Screen: Shows exactly what appears on the device, including the interface.
- Mirror Presenter Page: Shows the current page, zooming, and page-switching animations while hiding other Split View apps.
- Mirror Full Page: Shows the complete page without zooming or page-switching animations and hides other Split View apps.
Use the Laser Pointer
Select the Laser Pointer from the toolbar. If it is not visible, swipe across the toolbar.
- Dot: Displays a red dot that follows your touch.
- Trail: Creates a temporary trail that disappears shortly after you draw it.
Stop presenting
- Open Control Center.
- Select Screen Mirroring.
- Select “Stop Mirroring”.
Create flipbook-style transitions
Choose Mirror Full Page so page-sliding animations are hidden. Duplicate or copy and paste pages, then change each page gradually.
