Add and manage comments in Goodnotes

Comments let you attach notes or discussion threads to specific areas without changing the document content. Use them for personal notes or feedback in a shared document.

Important: Editing and resolving comments are not supported in Goodnotes for Android, Windows, or Web. Comments are not included in Auto Backup or manual library backups.

Add a comment thread

  1. Long-press the location on a touchscreen, or right-click in the desktop app.
  2. Select “Add Comment”.
  3. Enter the comment.
  4. Select the Send button.

Comments attached to supported objects, such as images, shapes, sticky notes, or elements, remain connected when the object moves.
