Use Search to find content across your Goodnotes library or within an open document.
What you can search
Goodnotes indexes the following content:
- Handwriting
- Typed text
- Text in PDF documents
- Text in documents created with Scan Documents
- Document and folder titles
- Document outlines
Only PDFs that already contain an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) layer are searchable. Goodnotes does not subsequently add OCR to imported PDFs. Digitally created PDFs and some scanned PDFs may already contain this layer.
Search across all notes
- Open Search in the Library View.
- Enter a keyword in the Search field.
- Tap a result to open the matching location.
Search within an open document
- Open the document.
- Tap the magnifying-glass icon in the Nav Bar.
- Enter a keyword.
- Tap a result to open the matching location.
