Scribble to Erase Handwriting

You can use your pen to erase your notes, just like how you might cross out mistakes with a pencil. All you have to do is scribble over the words or lines you want to erase and they magically disappear!

Use Scribble to Erase

  1. Write a word or sentence.
  2. If you notice something that you aren’t happy with, scribble over the strokes with your Pen Tool.
  3. All strokes underneath the scribbled area will be erased.

For best results, draw these gray-colored strokes to more reliably trigger the Scribble-to-Erase gesture:

Keep in mind that any strokes outside of your initial stroke may not be erased, including dots for letters like "i" like in the example above. You can either scribble over these extra strokes afterwards or ensure they are covered by your initial stroke.

Disable Scribble to Erase

If the feature accidentally gets in the way of your handwriting, you can turn it off:

  1. Tap the Pen tool twice.
  2. Choose Pen Gestures and disable Scribble to Erase.
