How do I change the email address on my Goodnotes account or migrate my subscription to another Goodnotes account?

Common reasons you might want to update or change your email address include:

  • You logged in to Goodnotes with a "Hide My Email" address (e.g., xxx@privaterelay.appleid.com), but now want to change it to your actual email address.

  • You logged in to Goodnotes with your Apple Account, then changed its email address on Apple's portal. However, Goodnotes still shows the old email address even when you log in with "Sign in with Apple" and the new email address.

  • Your school or work email address will be or has been deactivated and you want to move to a personal email address instead.

  • You bought a Goodnotes plan on one login, and now want to move the plan to another Apple, Google, or Microsoft account so you can log in to the app with that new Goodnotes account

You cannot change the email address or sign-in provider on an existing Goodnotes account in Account Settings. To update the email address shown under Goodnotes menu > View Account, or to migrate your subscription to another Apple, Google, or Microsoft account, you must delete your current Goodnotes account and sign in with the new email account.

 

To update your email address or transfer your purchase to another Goodnotes account, follow these steps:

  1. Delete the current Goodnotes account, making sure to choose Want to permanently delete your account immediately? and confirm to hard-delete the account:

  2. If you are updating a "Hide My Email" address, or an Apple Account email change, open device Settings > Apple Account > Sign in with Apple > Goodnotes > Delete.

  3. Re-open Goodnotes and sign in with the email address or sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or Microsoft) you want to use going forward.

    • If signing in with Sign in with Apple, choose the Share my Email option.

  4. Check Goodnotes menu > View Account to confirm that your intended email address and premium plan are displayed correctly, indicating both have successfully linked to your new Goodnotes account.
