Include Annotations and Page Backgrounds in PDF Exports

If annotations, handwriting, highlights, or the page background are missing from a PDF you exported from Goodnotes, the export options “Include Annotation” and “Include Page Background” were likely turned off during export. Turning both options on and exporting again restores the missing content.

Turn on Include Annotation and Include Page Background when exporting

1. Open the page or document you want to export.
2. Open the export options.
3. Turn on Include Page Background to include the paper or template.
4. Turn on Include Annotation to include handwriting, highlighting, images, and other added content.
5. Select Export.

If content is still missing

1. Export one affected page again with both options enabled.
2. Open the PDF in another PDF viewer.
3. If the issue continues, contact Goodnotes Support and include the affected document in Goodnotes format and the exported PDF.
