Fix Word or PowerPoint Files Displaying Incorrectly on iPad

Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files can display incorrectly after Goodnotes converts them to PDF. This workaround applies on iPad and creates the PDF before import.

This workaround only applies on iPad. The final share-sheet option is “Open in Goodnotes”.

Some conversion problems might remain after using the iPad print preview.

Convert the file to PDF on iPad

  1. Open the Word or PowerPoint file on your iPad.
  2. Select Export.
  3. Select Print.
  4. Spread two fingers apart over the print preview.
  5. Select Export again.
  6. Select Open in Goodnotes.

Review the imported PDF

Goodnotes opens the PDF created from the print preview. Review each page to confirm whether the formatting now displays correctly.

If the issue continues

If the issue continues, export the original file as a PDF from Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, then import that PDF into Goodnotes.
