Import a Safari Web Page as a Reader PDF

A web page imported directly from Safari can lose its layout or show the message “the document is forbidden because you do not have permissions.” Use Safari Reader View to create a cleaner PDF before opening it in Goodnotes.

Prepare the web page in Reader View

  1. Open the web page in Safari.
  2. Turn on Reader View.

  1. Optional: Open the Reader View controls to choose a font, font size, or page background.

Create a Reader PDF

  1. Select Share.
  2. Select Options beside the web page title.

  1. Select Reader PDF.
  2. Return to the share sheet.
  3. Select Open in Goodnotes, then confirm the import.

If Reader View is unavailable

Reader View is not supported on every web page. If it is unavailable, use the website’s print or download option to create a PDF, then import that PDF into Goodnotes.
