Fix the Lasso Tool Showing Only Take Screenshot

If the Lasso Tool shows only “Take Screenshot”, either the relevant object type is disabled or the selection is part of an imported PDF page.

The Lasso Tool cannot select text or graphics that are embedded in the original PDF.

Check the Lasso Tool settings

1. Select the Lasso Tool.
2. Select it again to open its settings.
3. Enable the object types you want to select, such as handwriting, images, or text boxes.
4. Draw a complete loop around the Goodnotes content.
5. Select the selection to open the available actions.

If you still see only Take Screenshot

If you still see only Take Screenshot after enabling the relevant types, the selected content is likely part of the PDF.

If the content is part of a PDF

Content printed into an imported PDF page is not a Goodnotes annotation, so it cannot be moved or edited with the Lasso Tool.

1. Use Take Screenshot on the area you need.
2. Add the screenshot to the page.
3. Use the Lasso Tool to move, copy, or resize the new image.
