Turn on Noise Reduction

  1. Open the document containing the audio recording.
  2. Open the Overflow menu, then select “Show Recordings”.
  3. Select an audio clip from the list.
  4. Select Play in the playback controls.
  5. Select More (…), then turn on “Noise Reduction”.

Compatible devices

Noise Reduction requires one of the following:

  • An iPhone with an A16 chip or later.
  • An iPad with an A16, M1, or later chip.
  • A Mac with an M1 chip or later.

Check which chip your device uses

  • iPhone or iPad: Open the device Settings app and select General > About. Note the Model Name, then check that model’s technical specifications.
  • Mac: Open the Apple menu  and select About This Mac. Check the Chip line.

If Noise Reduction is missing

If the Noise Reduction option does not appear under More (…) during playback, the device might not meet the chip requirement. Confirm the device model and chip using the steps above.
