If inserted images disappear when you print a Goodnotes document from an iPad, first install the latest official iPadOS update available for your device. If images are still missing, try another printing method.
This article only applies when images are missing from a physical printout. Choose “Editable” in the PDF export options when trying the PDF workaround.
Update iPadOS and print again
- Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Install the latest official, non-beta iPadOS update available.
- Export and print the document again.
Try another printing method
Print from Goodnotes for macOS
- Open the document in Goodnotes on a Mac.
- Print the document from the Mac.
Print an Editable PDF
- Export the document using the Editable PDF format.
- Open the PDF in the Files app.
- Print it from the Files app.
Try another printer
If another printer is available, print the document with it. The issue can affect some printer models.
Print exported images
- Export the document as image files.
- Print the images individually.
Send the issue for investigation

- A photo or screenshot of the physical printout.
- The printer make and model.
If the issue continues after trying another printer or export method, send the requested files and device details to Goodnotes Support.
