Images are missing from exported PDFs in Goodnotes

Why images might be missing

After you export a document as a PDF, some or all images might be missing when you view the file in certain PDF viewers or web browsers.

Goodnotes stores image information in JPEG2000 format, which supports small file sizes and transparency. However, some PDF viewers do not support JPEG2000 and cannot display these images.

Resave the PDF on a Mac

  1. Open the PDF in macOS Preview.
  2. Press Command-P.
  3. Choose Save as PDF.

Images in the new PDF should display correctly in other PDF viewers.

Resave the PDF without a Mac

If you do not have a Mac, open the PDF in Chrome and print the PDF to a new file.
