Move documents and folders in your Goodnotes library

Move individual or multiple documents and folders to another folder in your Goodnotes library. You can use Select Items or drag and drop.

Important: Moving an item changes its location in your library. It does not create a copy or delete the original content.

Move one or more documents or folders

  1. Start selecting items:
    • On iPhone or iPad, select the four-square icon in the top-right corner of Library view, then select Select Items.
    • On Android, Windows, or Web, select the checkmark icon in the top-right corner of Library view.
  2. Select the documents or folders you want to move.
  3. Select Move at the top.

  4. Select the destination folder. Select a folder containing subfolders to expand it.
  5. If needed, create a folder inside the selected location using the icon in the top-right corner. You can also search, filter, or sort to find the destination.
  6. Select “Move to...” to confirm.

You can move an individual document or folder by dragging it to its destination.

Dragging a document into a destination folder

  1. Go to the document or folder you want to move.
  2. Drag the item onto the destination folder.
  3. Release the item to move it.

Additional options on iPhone or iPad

  • While viewing a document, select its title at the top, then select Move to a Different Folder. Choose the destination and confirm the move.
  • When selecting multiple items in list view, swipe across a row to select items more quickly.
