Fix a PowerPoint File That Renders Slowly or Shows Blank Areas

Some PowerPoint files, or PDFs created from them, may render slowly or temporarily show “sections of the page white” while scrolling.

Important: a PDF created through a Print command may retain rendering problems. Export directly to PDF from Microsoft PowerPoint instead.

Export the presentation as PDF

  1. Open the presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  2. Choose PowerPoint’s Export or Save As command.
  3. Select PDF and save the file.
  4. Import the exported PDF into Goodnotes.

If the PDF still renders slowly

  1. If you still see blank areas, open the PDF in another viewer and inspect the affected pages.
  2. If the same problem appears there, export again from PowerPoint.
  3. If the PDF displays correctly elsewhere but not in Goodnotes, see My PDF is loading slowly or displayed incorrectly.
  4. If the issue continues, contact Goodnotes Support with device/app versions, affected pages, and a screen recording. Attach only non-sensitive content or a safe sample.
