What is "Email to Goodnotes"?
"Email to Goodnotes" enables you to easily import PDFs to your Goodnotes library by emailing them to a unique email address generated by the app, like xxxxxx@goodnotes.email.
Get your Goodnotes email address
- Tap the ⚙️ icon in the top-right corner of the Library view > Settings > Email to Goodnotes.
- Review and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, then enable the feature. If you can't, see I can't create a Goodnotes email address.
Once activated, you will see your @goodnotes.email address, which you can also share with trusted people so they can send PDFs to your library.
Limitations of Email to Goodnotes
We currently only support PDFs. If the email contains both PDFs and other unsupported formats, the PDFs will be imported but the sender will receive an email listing the unsupported files. Please note that we also don’t follow direct links to PDFs within the email. Images may be considered part of the email signature, so if the email contains PDFs and images, there will be no error email sent back to the sender and only the PDFs are imported. Also, as email services have an attachment size limit, it's not possible to import a PDF that's larger than 25 MB this way.
Check for new imports from your Goodnotes email address
The app checks for new imports when you:
- Keep the app in the foreground, i.e. visible on the screen.
- Access the "Email to GoodNotes" Settings.
Normally, it takes a minute or two for our servers to prepare the attachment for downloading to your library.
Disable your Goodnotes email address
If you feel spammed or don't want to use this feature anymore, you can easily disable it in "Email to Goodnotes" Settings. Please note that your email address will be disabled immediately and can't be reused. Re-enabling the feature gives you a new Goodnotes email address.
