You can view documents from Goodnotes on a non-Apple device by sharing them on the web, backing them up as PDFs, or exporting them in a compatible format.
This article only applies when the destination device cannot open a Goodnotes file. “Automatic Backup” can provide a PDF copy.
Use PDF or image format when the destination device cannot open a Goodnotes file.
Share a document on the web
- Enable web sharing for the document.
- Open its shared link in a browser on the other device.

Use Automatic Backup
- Enable Automatic Backup with a supported cloud-storage service.
- Choose PDF as the backup format.
- Open the backed-up PDF from cloud storage on the non-Apple device.
Export the document
- Export the document in PDF or image format.
- Send or save the exported file so it can be opened on the other device.
Do not use Goodnotes format if the destination device cannot open Goodnotes files.
