Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Verify Your Login Details: To ensure you can re-login to this account, before logging out, note down your "Email & Connected Via" information. You can find this by navigating to Goodnotes menu > Your name > Account Settings.
  • Sign Out with a Stable Network Connection: Always sign out while connected to the network to ensure your changes are synced and saved. To verify the sync status, tap on the file name from the document view. Be aware that signing out will remove local data and may result in data loss if changes are not yet synced. Notebooks that are already synced to the cloud will remain safe and will be loaded when you log in again.

Delete account

Before deleting your account, please consider the following important information:

  1. Impact on All Platforms
Deleting your account on one platform will remove it across all platforms if you use Goodnotes on multiple devices.
  2. Confirmation Prompt
To prevent accidental deletions, you will be prompted to confirm your action before deleting your account.
  3. Irreversible Deletion
Once your account is permanently deleted, this action cannot be undone.
    • All Goodnotes data across platforms will be deleted, except for documents stored locally on your iPad or synced to iCloud.
    • We recommend exporting your notebooks from non-Apple platforms as a backup before proceeding with account deletion.
  4. Subscription Impact
    • Any subscriptions purchased on non-Apple platforms, including Samsung Premium, will be dissociated and cannot be restored to another account.
    • Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription or issue a refund.
    • If your subscription is not canceled, it will continue to auto-renew.
    • Be sure to cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account to avoid future charges.

To delete your Goodnotes Account: Tap Goodnotes Menu  > Manage Account > Account Settings > Delete account. You will receive an alert if there’s any unsynced data before deletion takes place.

Once you request account deletion, your account will be scheduled for deletion 21 days later. After 21 days, your account and all its data will be permanently deleted.

  • If you try to log in during that period, you can recover your account.
  • If you try to log in after that period, you will be logged in as a new user.
  • If you like to delete the account immediately without scheduling, click "Want to permanently delete your account immediately?" and confirm.

What happens to your documents after the deletion is complete?

Any shared documents will no longer be accessible by others. Documents saved on non-Apple devices will be erased, but documents saved on Apple devices will remain in the app or iCloud. If any documents were still syncing, you may lose any un-synced data.

How to recover your account within 21 days on Android, Windows, and Web?

If you change your mind and want to recover your account within 21 days, just sign in, and you'll have the option to restore it. Once your account is recovered, any documents you had shared will now be private again, and you’ll need to share them again if necessary.
