Select content with the Circle to Lasso pen gesture

Use the Circle to Lasso pen gesture to select handwriting or other supported content without switching from the Pen tool. After selection, move, resize, or edit the content like a normal Lasso selection.

Note: “Circle to Lasso” is enabled by default. The circle must surround the intended content and become a dotted selection before you move it.

Select content with Circle to Lasso

  1. Select the Pen tool.
  2. Draw a complete circle around the content.
  3. Lift the stylus.
  4. Long-press the circle stroke.
  5. Wait for the circle to become a dotted Lasso selection.
  6. Drag the selection to move it, or select it to open more actions.

Turn Circle to Lasso on or off

  1. Select the Pen tool again to open its settings.
  2. Open Pen Gestures.
  3. Turn “Circle to Lasso” on or off.

If the circle does not become a selection

  1. Confirm that Circle to Lasso is enabled.
  2. Draw one closed circle around the content.
  3. Lift the stylus before long-pressing the circle stroke.
  4. Try a smaller circle that touches only the content you want.
