Goodnotes may be less stable on a prerelease iPadOS beta because the operating system can change before its public release.
Important: iPadOS beta versions are not fully supported for production use. Back up important Goodnotes documents before installing or updating a beta.
Before using an iPadOS beta
- Create a manual backup of your Goodnotes library.
- Export any critical documents separately in Goodnotes format.
- Confirm that the backup files are stored somewhere outside the device.
- Update Goodnotes to the latest available version.
If Goodnotes becomes unstable
- Install the latest available Goodnotes and iPadOS beta updates.
- Restart the iPad.
- Check whether the problem also occurs in a new test document.
- If the issue continues, contact Technical Support and state that the device is using an iPadOS beta.
Include Diagnostic Data
Diagnostic Data helps Support identify the Goodnotes version, device configuration, and relevant errors.
- Open Goodnotes menu > View Account > Account Settings.
- Select “Export Diagnostic Data”.
- Attach the generated file to your support request with the iPadOS beta version and steps that reproduce the issue.
After the public iPadOS release
Update to the latest public iPadOS and Goodnotes versions. Compatibility generally improves as Apple finalizes the operating system and Goodnotes releases corresponding updates.
